Summary

AspectCalc is a static website. The aspect ratio calculator runs entirely inside your browser, and the numbers you type are never sent to us. We do not require an account, we do not ask for your name or email address, and we do not sell personal information.

Information the calculator handles

Width, height and ratio values are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. They are not transmitted to our servers, not logged and not stored. If you use the copy buttons, the text is written to your device's clipboard by your browser; we have no access to your clipboard.

Automatically collected information

Like almost every website, our hosting provider may record standard technical information when you request a page. This typically includes your IP address, the type and version of your browser, the operating system, the page requested, the referring page and a timestamp. This information is used for security and for aggregate traffic analysis, and it is not used to identify you personally.

Cookies and local storage

AspectCalc itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The site works without cookies. Third parties described below may set cookies in your browser when advertising is displayed.

Advertising

This site may display advertising supplied by third-party vendors, including Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

If analytics are enabled, they are used only to understand which pages are visited and how the calculator is used in aggregate. Analytics data is not linked to any personal identifier, and no calculator input is ever recorded.

Some pages link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we recommend reading their policies before providing personal data.

Children's privacy

AspectCalc is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Since we do not maintain user accounts or store calculator input, in most cases there is no personal data for us to retrieve. Requests about advertising data should be directed to the relevant advertising provider.

Data retention

The calculator does not store what you type. No width, no height and no image opened in the image tools is written to a server, because there is no server-side handling to write it to — the site is static and the work happens in your browser. Closing the tab discards it.

The only information retained for any length of time is the aggregate analytics and advertising data described above, which is retained by the relevant third-party provider under its own retention policy rather than by us. We keep no independent copy of it.

Do Not Track and opt-out signals

Where your browser sends a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request not to use your data for personalised advertising. You can also opt out of personalised advertising directly through your advertising provider's own settings, and through the industry opt-out programmes referenced in the advertising section above.

International visitors

This site is accessible worldwide, and the limited automatically collected information described above may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, where our analytics and advertising providers operate. Those transfers are carried out by those providers under their own privacy terms.

No account, no registration

There is no account system, no sign-in and no user database on this site. Because we hold no account data, there is none for us to disclose, correct or delete — which is why the rights section above concerns the analytics and advertising data held by third parties rather than data held by us directly.

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the service or in applicable law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
