By accessing or using AspectCalc you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. What this service is

AspectCalc provides a free, browser-based utility for calculating and converting aspect ratios, together with reference material about common ratios and resolutions. No account is required and no payment is taken.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the site for personal and commercial purposes. You may not:

  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
  • scrape the site at a rate that degrades service for other visitors;
  • reproduce the site's written guides wholesale on another website;
  • use the site in a way that breaks any applicable law.

4. Accuracy and no warranty

The calculations and reference tables on this site are provided for general guidance. While we take care to keep the maths correct and the resolution tables up to date, we make no warranty that every result is accurate, complete or suitable for your particular purpose. The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.

5. Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you apply the results. If a dimension is critical — for example in print production, broadcast delivery, manufacturing or medical imaging — verify the figure against your own specification or the requirements of the platform or printer you are delivering to.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AspectCalc and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit or business, arising from the use of or inability to use this site.

7. Intellectual property

The site's design, code and written content are the property of AspectCalc unless otherwise stated. You may link to any page and quote short extracts with attribution. Aspect ratio values, resolution standards and platform names belong to their respective owners and are referenced here for identification only.

8. Third-party names

Product names such as those of cameras, phones, monitors, tablets and social platforms are trademarks of their owners. They are used descriptively and their appearance here does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement.

9. Advertising

The site may display advertising, which helps keep it free. Advertisements are supplied by third parties and we do not control their content. Your dealings with advertisers are solely between you and them.

10. Changes to the service and to these terms

Features may be added, changed or removed at any time. These terms may be updated; the date at the top of this page shows the last revision, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

11. No professional advice

The output of this site is arithmetic, not professional advice. Nothing here is engineering, legal, medical or financial guidance, and no figure should be relied on where an error would cause loss, injury or legal consequence. Where a dimension matters in a regulated, structural or safety-critical context, verify it against the relevant specification or a qualified professional before acting on it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the site operator is established. Nothing in these terms removes any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence.
